The Duo

Michael Gerholdt with Timm Reasbeck

I'm very pleased to have Timm Reasbeck join me on bass in many of my performances. His willingness to explore new ideas brings an interesting dimension to the music. While I will continue to pursue a solo "career," I find myself very much enjoying the collaborative experience! Here's an example of our work together, recorded live. Please listen on big speakers or a good headset, so you can get the full effect of Timm's bass!

A long-time resident of the Warren, PA, area, Timm Reasbeck is recognized as a skilled musician.

Timm's love for Appalachian fiddle music and the community of players that engage in it has been central to his musical growth. "As a bass player," he says, "I've got the best seat in the house, surrounded by glorius fiddles!"

His prior projects include Mutt & Geoff - a fiddle, guitar, and upright bass trio - playing the local nursing home circuit. Reasbeck also played upright bass for Tongue Cluckers which morphed into Deep Fried and Dipped In Honey.

Current projects include four years performing with Johnny Smooth Duo where Timm plays bass guitar. More recently, he has joined a newly formed band, Crick Divers, exploring traditional Bluegrass on his upright bass.

"Working with Michael Gerholdt," says Timm, "is giving me yet another opportunity to be a party to making wonderful music."

With a creative ear, Timm develops tasteful and interesting bass lines that complement Gerholdt's music and style nicely!
